Preparing for school

In close partnership with parents, we support every child as they move from kindergarten to school, whether starting reception at an English school or later joining the Norwegian School. Our goal is to ensure a safe, confident, and positive transition, helping each child feel secure, prepared, and ready to embrace the next stage of their learning journey.

Children are encouraged to look forward to starting school and to see the connection between kindergarten and their next stage of learning. We offer a variety of engaging activities that prepare them for school, including additional language support when needed. Through our teaching, we focus on providing experiences, knowledge, and skills that build a strong foundation and foster confidence, curiosity, and motivation as they take this exciting step forward.

The children are given opportunities to familiarise themselves with what happens at school and in after-school day care. Our aim is to help them comfortably bring their time in kindergarten to a close and approach school with curiosity and faith in their own abilities.
